Carlos Martins Pereira e Souza
Carlos Martins Pereira e Souza (born November 4, 1884 in Porto Alegre , † February 17, 1965 in Rio de Janeiro ) was a Brazilian diplomat .
Life
Carlos Martins Pereira e Souza married Maria Martins in 1926 (born August 7, 1894 in Campanha (Minas Gerais), † March 28, 1973 in Rio de Janeiro ).
Souza studied law and practiced the profession of attorney and was employed from December 6, 1903 to February 28, 1907 in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On February 29, 1907 he was appointed second-class for legation secretary and after Saint Petersburg sent where he from 1 to 30 April 1911 as chargé acted. On June 12, 1913, he was transferred, initially to Rome, and from May 8, 1916 to July 1, 1920, i.e. during the First World War and until the Austro-Hungarian foreign policy was carried out, as chargé d'affaires to Vienna . Finally, from March 8, 1939 to April 20, 1948, he was appointed ambassador to Washington, DC , where he is photographed on October 18, 1945 with Harry S. Truman and Mascarenhas de Morais , General of the Força Expedicionária Brasileira . Finally he was transferred to Paris as ambassador from April 29, 1948 to November 5, 1949 .
