Carlos Reisch is a German funk band from Nuremberg . It was re-established in 2008 as Tentett .
history
Carlos Reisch was founded in 2004 as an instrumental trio. In the following years the band developed further until they found their current line-up as Tentett in 2008. Musically, the band is committed to a mix of funk, hip-hop , jazz and soul .
Before their debut album Need to Dance in July 2010, the vinyl single Control of Your Mind was released with the title track and four remixes . The song was licensed in different versions for the Mercedes-Benz Mixtape , for the compilation Sexy Latin Lounge ( Sony ) and for La Nuit: The Finest of Chill House Lounge from Ministry of Sound .
In the past, the band performed as a live act at local open airs such as the Bardentreffen ( Nuremberg ) or the Weinturm Open Air (Bad Windsheim), at the Chiemsee Reggae Summer ( Übersee ) and on Bavarian television at on3 Südwild .
In 2010 the city of Nuremberg awarded Carlos Reisch a Nuremberg scholarship as part of the prizes for art and science .
Band name
The band name is a cross between Carlos Santana and Stefan Reisch , a former professional footballer who became German champions and DFB cup winners with 1. FC Nürnberg . After his active football career, Stefan Reisch still runs a stationery shop in the Nuremberg district of Erlenstegen . The founding members of Carlos Reisch bought their exercise books there. The band name is characteristic of the way the band thinks: Franconian understatement paired with (Latin) American effortlessness and ease.
