Carlton Eugene Guyton (born August 7, 1990 ) is an American basketball player .

career

Guyton played basketball as a teenager at Rich South High School in south Chicago , from 2008 he was a member of the team at Mineral Area College in the US state of Missouri . In his second season there, he scored an average of 15 points, distributed 3.7 basket assists, got 5.1 rebounds and recorded 1.3 ball wins per encounter. Guyton, who is nicknamed "Scootie", moved in 2010 to Kent State University in the state of Ohio, which was part of the first NCAA division . The player, who is characterized by his versatility, who can be used in positions one to three, was on the field in 65 games for Kent State up to 2012, including 44 times in the starting line-up. He achieved an average of 11.2 points, three basket preparations and 3.3 rebounds per use.

Guyton, who majored in education, decided to move into the professional field, and in November 2012 the Erie BayHawks secured his rights in the NBA Development League's draft process . Less than two weeks later, Guyton was removed from the BayHawks' squad, and he then moved to the Stockholm Eagles in the Swedish first division. There he was used in 17 games and scored an average of 10.1 points as well as four basket assists and 2.9 rebounds per game.

During the summer break of 2013 Guyton took part in a basketball tournament in China  , where he was noticed by Ralph Junge  (then coach of the German second division team Ehingen / Urspring ), who signed him for the 2013/14 season. After a year he moved to the Oettinger Rockets Gotha within the 2. Bundesliga ProA . With the Thuringians, he contributed to reaching the semifinals as a top performer in the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons, his appearances also made an impression on the Bundesliga club Basketball Löwen Braunschweig , who signed the US-American in June 2016. In the 2016/17 Bundesliga season, Guyton played 25 league games for Lower Saxony and averaged 11.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and prepared 2.3 basket wins for his teammates. He reached his personal highs this game year in mid-December 2016 against Würzburg when he scored 25 points.

In the 2017/18 season Guyton was part of the team of the Italian second division club UCC Piacenza. In 30 games of the points round, Guyton came to averages of 15.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.7 basket assists per match. In the run-up to the 2018/19 season, he was signed by the Greek first division club AGO Rethymnou . He played four games for the team from the island of Crete and averaged 7.3 points per encounter. In October 2018 there was a separation, at the end of December 2018 the German second division Hamburg Towers signed the US-American. With the Hamburg team, he made it to the Bundesliga as champion of the 2nd Bundesliga ProA in spring 2019. Guyton played a major role in this when he scored 28 points in the fifth and final semi-final duel with Chemnitz and thus made a significant contribution to the final, which meant promotion. Overall, he came to a point average of 8.7 per match for the Hanseatic League in the promotion season.

During the 2019 summer break, Guyton moved to the Hungarian first division club Alba Fehérvár in the city of Székesfehérvár .
