Carmen Winkel

Carmen Winkel (* 1979 in Brandenburg an der Havel ) is a German historian .

Life

Winkel studied history, politics and media studies at the University of Potsdam (MA) from 1999 to 2005 . Afterwards she worked for an NGO in Tanzania. From 2005 to 2007 she was a freelancer at the Military History Research Office (MGFA) in Potsdam. In 2007 she became a research assistant at the chair for military history / cultural history of violence ( Bernhard R. Kroener ) at the University of Potsdam. From 2008 she was a DFG doctoral scholarship holder; In 2012 she received her dissertation in Potsdam with Ralf Pröve 's dissertation Im Netz des Königs. Networks and Patronage in the Prussian Army 1713–1786 as Dr. phil.PhD. She is currently a visiting lecturer at Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University in Dhahran .

She is u. a. Member of the working group for the military and society in the early modern period (as assessor) and of the working group for military history . Her research interests are aristocratic history and the military history of the 18th and 20th centuries. Winkel published u. a. in the magazines military history and Clausewitz as well as in the yearbook for Brandenburg regional history .
