The Vista class is a range of Panamax cruise ships developed for the British-American cruise company Carnival Corporation & plc . The ships have been built by the Italian shipbuilding group Fincantieri since 2014 .

history

In October 2012, Carnival Corporation & plc ordered two ships from Fincantieri, the Carnival Vista as the type ship of the second Vista class and the Koningsdam as the type ship of the Pinnacle class.

December 2014, two each identical ships, including that were Carnival Horizon of the Vista class and a ship of the Pinnacle class for the Holland-America Line , ordered. The Carnival Horizon, the second ship in the class, was laid down on April 5, 2016 and delivered on March 28, 2018.

In March 2015, Carnival Corporation & plc placed an order with Fincantieri for five ships of indefinite classes under reserve. In December 2015, Carnival Corporation & plc confirmed its order for a total of four more ships from Fincantieri, including three Vista- class ships , two of which were intended for Costa Crociere and one for P&O Cruises Australia . As the third ship in this class for the Carnival Cruise Line, the ship originally intended for P&O Cruises Australia was laid down under the name Carnival Panorama on January 10, 2018 in Marghera . It was delivered on October 29, 2019.

Construction of the second ship for Costa Crociere began on May 25, 2018.

The construction costs are 780 million US dollars per ship.
