The Carnival Vista is a cruise ship operated by the Carnival Cruise Line . The type ship of the Vista class from 2016 was delivered on April 29, 2016. The ship's maiden voyage took the ship from Trieste to Barcelona in May 2016 .

history

In October 2012 Carnival Corporation & plc ordered two ships from Fincantieri, the Carnival Vista and the Koningsdam . Construction began in February 2014. The keel was laid on October 14, 2014 in Monfalcone . The ship was undocked on June 25, 2015 and delivered on April 29, 2016. The baptism by Deshauna Barber took place on November 4, 2016 in New York .

Design and construction

The ship is the largest ship of the company and was approved by the Fincantieri - shipyard designed and built.

Incidents

On August 28, 2016, the ship destroyed the tourist port of Messina , Italy, during a port maneuver .

In July 2019 repairs had to be carried out on the propeller nacelles. Since there was insufficient shipyard capacity to dry the ship - the ship was cruising in the Gulf of Mexico - it was loaded onto the semi-submersible ship Boka Vanguard and brought from there to the Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport , Bahamas . The Boka Vanguard acted as a dry dock during the repair .
