history

Construction and commissioning

On October 1, 2004, the American tourism group Carnival Corporation & plc ordered the fifth and last cruise ship in the Conquest class. The Carnival Freedom is the only ship of this series that was built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera near Venice . After completion and the handover on February 27, 2007, the ship was christened on March 4, 2007 in Venice by the actress Kathy Ireland . On March 5, 2007, the Carnival Freedom ran out on its maiden voyage.

commitment

After commissioning, the Carnival Freedom was used during the summer months from its European base port Civitavecchia in the western and eastern Mediterranean. In the fall and winter, the ship sailed the Caribbean Sea from the base ports of Miami and Fort Lauderdale.

In the following years, Carnival Freedom was relocated to the Caribbean all year round.

Cabins and on-board facilities

Like all ships of the shipping company, the Carnival Freedom was largely designed and designed by Joseph Farcus . The theme of the ship is paraphrased as "time travel through the centuries". The ship has 1,487 cabins, 52 of which are suites. The proportion of outside cabins is around 62%.

As part of regular modernizations, the ship was also equipped with the "Seaside Theater", an almost 25 square meter LED screen . It is located on the pool deck and is used to broadcast films, on-board events and various information.
