The Carnival Paradise is a cruise ship of the US shipping company Carnival Cruise Line which was commissioned as Paradise in 1998 . She is the eighth and final ship of the Fantasy class introduced in 1990 .
history
The Paradise was built under hull number 494 at Kværner Masa Yards in Helsinki and was launched on January 29, 1998. After test drives in August 1998, the ship was delivered to Carnival Cruise Lines on October 29, 1998 and put into service for cruises from Miami on December 6 .
During the first years of service, smoking was strictly prohibited on board the Paradise . Passengers who violated this policy were fined and had to end their cruise. In December 2003 Carnival relaxed this regulation again.
On September 2004, the Paradise was used from Long Beach for cruises to Mexico . In November 2007, like all older units in the fleet, the ship received the prefix Carnival and thus became Carnival Paradise . In 2011 it was relocated to Tampa .
The Carnival Paradise is used for cruises to Grand Cayman and Mexico. The ship has also been offering cruises to Havana since June 2017 .
