The Carnival Breeze (dt. Brise ) is a cruise ship of the shipping company Carnival Cruise Line . It belongs to the post-Panamax category and is measured at almost 130,000 GT . At the time of commissioning, the Carnival Breeze was the largest cruise ship according to GT in the history of the shipping company. The Carnival Breeze is registered in Panama and is used from Miami ( Florida , USA ). After the Carnival Dream and Carnival Magic, she is the third and, for the time being, last ship in the Dream class for the shipping company.

history

Construction and commissioning

The Carnival Breeze was on December 2, 2010 with the hull number 6201 in the Fincantieri -Werft in Monfalcone to put Kiel . After being launched on September 16, 2011, the ship was handed over to the Carnival Cruise Line on May 31, 2012. On June 3, 2012, the Carnival Breeze sailed unbaptized on her maiden voyage from Venice to Barcelona. The christening followed on December 8, 2012 by Tracy Wilson Mourning in Miami, the base port of Carnival Breeze .

commitment

From summer 2016 to 2018 the Carnival Breeze will operate several one-week routes from Galveston (Texas) Galveston to the western Caribbean. Option 1 leads to Key West , Freeport and Nassau , Option 2 to Cozumel , Belize City and Roatán and Option 3 to Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Montego Bay . In some cases the ship also calls at Costa Maya.

Machine system and drive

The machinery of the Carnival Breeze is almost identical to that of the type ship Carnival Dream . Six three-phase generators driven by twelve-cylinder diesel engines from the Wärtsilä 46 series supply the ship with electrical energy. The propulsion system is conventionally designed with electric propeller motors, shaft systems , 6-blade fixed propellers and active rudders.
