The Carnival Conquest (Eng. Conquest ) is a cruise ship of the shipping company Carnival Cruise Line . The eponymous type ship of the Conquest class is the shipping company's 19th new build and was built at Fincantieri in Italy .

The Carnival Conquest is a further development of the Destiny class . Their sister ships differ slightly in terms of equipment, cabins and measurements. All ships have a diesel-electric drive that transmits an output of 2 × 20 MW to fixed propellers. The electricity is generated by six diesel generators with a total output of 63,360 kW.

Areas of application

In the summer of 2016, the Carnival Conquest will sail from Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades) on various routes to the southeastern Caribbean. Usually there is an 8-day route with calls in Grand Turk , La Romana , Bonaire or Curaçao and Aruba as well as a 6-day route with the goals Amber Cove , Grand Turk and the Carnival private island Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas .

In the winter of 2016/2017, the ship sails on the 8-day tour to the ports of St. Maarten , St. Kitts , San Juan and Grand Turk. The 6-day tour includes stops in Cozumel , Ocho Rios, and Grand Cayman . In some cases, the ship also goes to the ABC Islands , Nassau , Santo Domingo , Key West or Saint Thomas .

Incidents

On December 16, 2002, passengers suffered from nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. The cruise company assumed that it was an infection with human noroviruses . The pathogen had spread explosively in the past few months.
