Carol Wayne (born September 6, 1942 in Chicago , Illinois , † January 13, 1985 in Manzanillo , Mexico ) was an American actress .

Life

Carol Wayne started her show business career as a figure skater for Ice Capades with her younger sister, actress Nina Wayne . Both later became showgirls at Folies Bergère and Tropicana Las Vegas . From the mid-1960s she was an actress in minor supporting roles in television series such as Charming Jeannie , Tennis Racket and Cannons and In Love with a Witch . She was also featured in commercials such as the AMC Rebel and Kellogg's Frosted Flakes . Her last film appearance was in 1984 with the film drama The Heartbreakers . In the same year she filed for personal bankruptcy and pulled out for Playboy in February .

Wayne was married three times. After her first marriage to Loreto Cera, she was married to photographer Barry Feinstein from 1969 to 1974 , with whom she also had her only child, son Alex Feinstein. The third marriage with the film and television producer Burt Sugarman lasted from 1975 to 1980.

On January 13, 1985, Carol Wayne's body was fished out of the sea by a fisherman about 275 meters from Manzanillo Beach . She was last seen on Friday, January 11, in an argument with her travel companion, car dealer Edward Durston, at the Las Hadas Resort. An autopsy showed that there was no alcohol or other drugs in the body, and Wayne drowned from natural causes . Durston was not classified as a suspect because he left the country that same day. He was present 15 years earlier during the death of an actress. When Diane Linkletter, the daughter of the presenter Art Linkletter , jumped from the sixth floor on October 4, 1969 while intoxicated with LSD , Durston was also in the apartment. In either case, he was not a suspect.
