Carolina Krafzik (born March 27, 1995 in Niefern-Öschelbronn , Baden-Württemberg ) is a German athlete who specializes in the 400 meter hurdles . Before that, she competed on shorter distances. She also runs sprints between 200 and 400 meters and also competes in the VfL Sindelfingen relay .

career path

Krafzik studied at the PH Ludwigsburg German and Sport on teacher training and starts in February 2020 Traineeship at an elementary school.

Athletic career

Carolina Krafzik comes from a family with a passion for sports: her mother is active as a trainer, her father was an active athlete. Krafzik was initially on short routes. On the advice of her coach, who had realized that she was following a long step, she switched to the full stadium lap with hurdles. Successes came immediately.

In 2018, she was runner-up in the German University Hall Championships over the 60 meter hurdles and the 200 meters . At the German Indoor Championships , Krafzik took 6th place in the 200-meter distance and 14th place over the 60-meter hurdles. On the stadium round without hurdles she was German university vice-champion, and with hurdles she won bronze at the German championships .

In 2019, Krafzik was able to take 6th place over the 400 meter hurdles at the German Indoor Championships , took bronze at the German University Championships and became German champion with a personal best of 55.64 s . Krafzik made her debut in the national jersey at the World Championships in Doha ( Qatar ), where she reached the semi-finals.

Krafzik is in the perspective of the German Athletics Association (DLV) .
