Carsten Borchert (born March 15, 1962 in Riebau ) is a German educator and politician ( CDU ). Since 2016 he has been a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life

Borchert grew up in Salzwedel and attended school there. After studying at the University of Magdeburg , he first worked as a primary school teacher for German, mathematics and sports, and later as a certified sports and social studies teacher. Until 2008 he worked as a sports and social studies teacher at the secondary schools in Jübar and Beetzendorf . From 2008 to 2016 he was head of a primary school in Beetzendorf.

Borchert has been a member of the CDU since 1999 and since 1994 mayor of the Jübar community and a member of the Beetzendorf-Diesdorf municipal council. Since 1999 he has been a member of the district council of the Altmarkkreis and chairman of the sports and culture committee.

In the state elections in March 2016 , he was elected as a direct candidate for the CDU via constituency 01 (Salzwedel) as a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt. He won the direct mandate with 33.6% of the first votes .
