Carsten Dehmlow

Carsten Dehmlow (* 1977 ) is a German swimmer . The athlete, who started for SG Neukölln Berlin and SG Hamburg , never took part in the Olympic Games, but can look back on a large number of national and international successes. He swam three world records.

National successes

Dehmlow won a total of six German championships over 50 m freestyle:

International success

Dehmlow was very successful as a relay swimmer at European short course championships . The 50-meter relay has only been on the program for short-course world championships since 2014.

  • 1998 in Sheffield :
  • 2001 in Antwerp :
    • Gold with the 4 × 50-meter layer relay (team: Stev Theloke , Mark Warnecke , Thomas Rupprath and Carsten Dehmlow). The victory time of 1: 35.14 minutes meant a world record . Great Britain (silver in 1: 35.19 min) and Sweden (bronze in 1: 37.71 min) followed in second and third place .
  • 2002 in Riesa :
    • Gold with the 4 × 50-meter layer relay (team: Stev Theloke, Jens Kruppa , Thomas Rupprath and Carsten Dehmlow), which again improved the world record in 1: 34.72 minutes . Silver and bronze went to Finland (1: 35.69 min) and Ukraine (1: 36.46 min), respectively.
  • 2003 in Dublin :
    • Silver with the 4 × 50 meter freestyle relay (team: Carsten Dehmlow, Benjamin Friedrich , Fabian Friedrich and Jens Schreiber ) in 1: 26.26 minutes behind the Netherlands (gold in the world record time of 1: 25.55 minutes) and ahead Ukraine (bronze in 1: 26.30 min).
    • Gold with the 4 × 50-meter layer relay (team: Thomas Rupprath, Mark Warnecke, Fabian Friedrich and Carsten Dehmlow) in the new world record time of 1: 34.46 minutes ahead of Sweden (silver in 1: 36.28 minutes) and of Switzerland (bronze in 1: 36.65 min).
  • 2004 in Vienna :
    • Silver with the 4 × 50 meter freestyle relay (team: Benjamin Friedrich, Thomas Rupprath, Jens Schreiber and Carsten Dehmlow) in 1: 26.30 minutes behind France (gold in the world record time of 1: 26.24 minutes) and ahead of Sweden (Bronze in 1: 26.98 min).
    • Gold with the 4 × 50-meter layer relay (team: Thomas Rupprath, Mark Warnecke, Fabian Friedrich and Carsten Dehmlow) in 1: 34.56 minutes ahead of Ukraine (silver in 1: 36.94 minutes) and Finland (bronze in 1: 35.89 min).
