Stephan Kunzelmann

Stephan Kunzelmann (born November 22, 1978 in Hanover ) is a German swimmer and Olympic participant. The 1.95 m tall and 96 kg heavy athlete started for the SGS Hannover .

German championships

  • 50 m freestyle: 3rd place in 1997 , runner-up in 1998 , 3rd place in 2000 and 2001 , MASTER in 2002
  • 50 m freestyle short course: 1999 MEISTER, 1997 , 1998 , 2000 and 2002 each runner-up
  • 100 m freestyle: 2000 3rd place, 2002 MASTER
  • 100 m freestyle short course: 1999 MEISTER, 2000 runner-up

In 2004 Kunzelmann set two German records in the 100 m freestyle: with 49.07 seconds and 47.82 seconds on the short course.

    • 100 m freestyle: Eliminated in 50.98 seconds in the preliminary run. To qualify for the semi-finals, a time of at least 49.71 seconds would have been required.
    • 4 × 100 m freestyle relay (cast: Lars Conrad, Stefan Herbst, Jens Schreiber , Torsten Spanneberg and Stephan Kunzelmann): 8th place in 3: 17.18 minutes. The gold medal went to South Africa in the new world record time of 3: 13.17 minutes .
