Casa Grande is a town in the Ascope Province in the La Libertad region of northwest Peru . Casa Grande is the seat of the district of the same name . The city had 19,097 inhabitants at the 2017 census. Ten years earlier the population was 20,078.

Geographical location

The town of Casa Grande, 147 m above sea level, is located 23 km from the Pacific coast in the coastal lowlands. The Río Chicama flows to the sea 5.5 km southeast of the city . The foothills of the Peruvian Western Cordillera rise 7 km north of the city . Irrigated agriculture is practiced in the vicinity of the city. Cities in the vicinity are Ascope (10 km east-northeast), Roma (5 km east) and Chocope (5 km south-southwest). The national road 1N ( Panamericana ) leads past Chocope .
