Casey Minson (born October 10, 1985 in Fremantle , Western Australia ) is a former Canadian - Australian ice hockey player who won the Goodall Cup , the Australian national championship, with the Newcastle North Stars in 2005, 2006 and 2008 .

Career

Casey Minson began his career in the youth division of the Adelaide Avalanche . He then moved to Canada for a year, where he played for Osoyoos Storm in the KIJHL and the Penticton Vees in the British Columbia Hockey League . In spring 2005 returned to Australia and played until 2010 for the Newcastle North Stars in the Australian Ice Hockey League . In 2005, 2006 and 2008 he won the Goodall Cup , the Australian championship, with the North Stars . In addition, there was the VIP Cup in 2009 and the H Newman Reid Trophy in 2010 , each for the main round victory in the AIHL. In 2011 he moved to the Northern Vikings in the second-class WASL from Western Australia, but also played for the AIHL club Gold Coast Blue Tongues in the 2012 season . After the 2013 season, he ended his career.

In the summer of the southern hemisphere he was drawn to the northern hemisphere again and again and he played in Canada for the Fort Saskatchewan Traders in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, in Turkey for Anka Spor Kulübü in the super league and in Germany for SC Forst in ice hockey -Landesliga Bayern , Prussia Krefeld in the Oberliga West and the ESC Darmstadt in the Regionalliga West

International

In the junior division, Minson was in Division II at the U20 World Championships in 2004 and Division II in 2005 .

Minson made his debut for the Australian men's national team at the 2008 World Cup , when the "Aussies" achieved their first promotion to Division I by winning their home tournament in Newcastle . There he played at the 2009 World Cup when the team had to accept immediate relegation. He was then no longer nominated for the national team.
