The name Castelli di Jesi Verdicchio Riserva DOCG is an Italian white wine from the provinces of Ancona and Macerata , Marche region. The wine has had a "controlled and guaranteed designation of origin " ( DOCG ) since 1995 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014. The wine is also available with the “Classico” label.

The denomination prescribes the following grape variety for the wine :

  • at least 85% Verdicchio
  • a maximum of 15% other white grape varieties - individually or collectively - that are approved for cultivation in the Marche region.

The wine must mature for at least 18 months, of which at least six months in the bottle, before it can be sold.

Cultivation

Cultivation and vinification of these wines are only permitted in the provinces of Ancona and Macerata in the Marche region . The authorized municipalities are: Filottrano , Jesi and Cingoli . The wines that come from the original, the classic cultivation zone, are allowed to carry the title "Classico".
