Catastrophe & Cure is an indie rock band from Steyr , Upper Austria, founded in 2009 .
history
Catastrophe & Cure was founded in 2009 by Raphael Rameis, Patrick Steinhuber, Lukas Kargl and Johannes Eder in Steyr . In 2010 the band released their first EP “Somewhere in Between” and produced their first music video for the song “It Isn't That Easy”, which was shown on the music channel gotv , among others . At the end of October 2010, the band also presented the program "Hosted by" on the same channel.
In October 2012 Catastrophe & Cure, meanwhile grown by Sebastian Kargl and Maximilian Atteneder, released their debut album “Like Crazy Doves”, produced by Johannes Eder and Markus Birkle, the live guitarist of the Fantastischen Vier and producer in Stuttgart. The debut album received a lot of attention throughout Austria, the first single "Shipwreck" climbed to number 2 on the charts of the public radio station FM4 . In 2013 the band won the Amadeus Austrian Music Award in the FM4 Award category for the album “Like Crazy Doves” .
In April 2015 the second album "Undeniable / Irresistible" was released on Schoenwetter records. Production was again taken over by Johannes Eder and Markus Birkle. "Undeniable / Irresistible" was received favorably by the critics, the band changed their melancholy sound to a cooler, more electronic sound. The single releases "Undeniable / Irresistible" and "Bones" were featured in the radio FM4 charts. The music video for the song "The Shore" was broadcast during the Crossing Europe Film Festival Linz 2016.
Awards
In November 2012, Catastrophe & Cure were voted Soundpark Band of the Month by the music department of the FM4 radio station .
In 2013 the band won the Amadeus Austrian Music Award in the FM4 Award category for the album "Like Crazy Doves" .
The music video for the song "The Shore" was broadcast during the Crossing Europe Film Festival Linz 2016.
