Celebrate the Nun (dt. Feiere die Nun) was a German synth-pop band from the 1980s . The band Scooter emerged from her in 1993 .

history

In late 1986 the learned from empty originating student of law H. P. Baxxter in Hanover met keyboardist Rick J. Jordan , whose band The Matzingers had been disbanded at the beginning of the year, through a newspaper advertisement. A few months later they formed their first band together with Baxxter's sister Britt Maxime and the founding member of The POX Slin Tompson.

The first single, Ordinary Town , was released in 1988 . The second single, Will You Be There , was released by Electrola in 1989 and reached number five on the US Billboard club charts a year later . The following single, She's a Secretary , reached number 12 on the same chart. However, there were no further chart successes.

After the band broke up, Jordan built his own recording studio in his basement in Hanover-Herrenhausen . Baxxter worked for the independent label Edel Music , where he first met Jens Thele, today's manager of Scooter . A week after the Love Parade in 1993, the three of them founded the remix band The Loop! Together with Baxxter's cousin Sören Bühler, aka Ferris Bueller . , which later became the successful dance band Scooter .

In 1998 Slin Tompson founded the successor band Celebrate the None with Phoen X and Skye Burns .
