Rick J. Jordan (* 1. January 1968 in Hannover as Hendrik Stedler ) is a German music producer , multi-instrumentalist, composer , sound engineer and sound designer . He became known as the "mastermind" (1994–2014) of the band Scooter .

Live and act

Rick J. Jordan learned to play the piano at the age of five and completed his training as a sound engineer . In 1987 he founded the synth-pop band Celebrate the Nun with HP Baxxter , which existed until 1992. The following year he started the band Scooter with HP Baxxter, his cousin Sören Bühler and the DJ Jens Thele. Within the band, Jordan was mainly responsible for all aspects of sound design and melodic production elements. He was also primarily responsible for the final mix of the productions. According to the English-language discography of Scooter , it has reached over 130 top 10 singles worldwide. He also received two echoes , 80 gold and platinum awards and a Number One Album award. the British Official Charts Company

At the end of 2013, Jordan's departure from Scooter was announced. On January 24, 2014, he was on stage with the band for the last time at the final concert of the Scooter: 20 Years Of Hardcore tour in Hamburg .

In his youth, Jordan played as a keyboard player in the Hanoverian amateur bands Laser , Megabyte , Die Matzingers, Vienna and Never Delay .

From mid-2016 to the beginning of 2018 he produced instrumental music from the field of "Classical Crossover" together with the Bulgarian concert pianist and composer Alexander Raytchev. The first work, Glassmærchen , premiered on December 15, 2016 in Berlin.

Since then, Rick J. Jordan has been a producer and bassist in the indie rock formation Leichtmatrose .

Private

Jordan lives in Hamburg, is married and has a daughter. His wife Nikk sang the base of the “pitched” voice on many Scooter songs and can be heard in Jigga Jigga with her natural voice.

Jordan's sister sang as Mary K. in 1994 for the German dance floor project Kosmos the DÖF hit Codo… düse im Sauseschritt again.
