Cernadelo is a municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district ( concelho ) of Lousada . It has 762 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

history

The current place was probably created during the repopulation during the Reconquista . In the royal surveys of 1258 , Cernadelo was run as a separate municipality, but a monastery already existed here in the 11th century.

Culture and sights

The single-aisled parish church Igreja Paroquial de Cernadelo ( also Igreja de São Tiago after its patron saint ) dates back to the 16th century.

The small estate Casa do Casal is surrounded by vineyards and trees. With the Parque de Merendas , the municipality also has a small excursion park that offers the opportunity for picnics and walks on the Amial River.
