The Chabur ( Kurdish Xabûr , Turkish Habur Çayı ; Arabic خابور Chābūr , DMG Ḫābūr ) is a left tributary of the Tigris in the Kurdistan Autonomous Region and in the Turkish province of Şırnak .

It is being built in the northeast of the Şırnak Province. In the upper reaches he is called Feraşin . It passes the district town of Beytüşşebap and flows south into Iraq . There he turns to the west. It flows through the city of Zaxo and the Delal Bridge . To the west of Zaxo it forms the border between Iraq and Turkey. There is also the only border crossing between the two countries, the Ibrahim Khalil border crossing .

To the east of this border crossing, the Hezil Çayı (Hêzil) flows into the Chabur. The mouth of the Chabur into the Tigris is also the triangle between Iraq, Turkey and Syria .

The banks of the river are mentioned several times in the Bible (OT).
