Chandannath ( Nepali चन्दननाथ Chandannath ) is a city (municipality) in western Nepal in the Jumla District in the Karnali Province . The city is the seat of the district administration.

history

The city was created in 2014 by amalgamating the Village Development Committees Chandannath , Kartik Swami (with the main town Jumla ), Mahatgaun and Talium .

geography

Chandannath lies at an altitude of 2350  m in the river valley of the Tila . The urban area covers 102 km².

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Chandannath had 19,047 residents (9,369 male) in 3,996 households.

traffic

Chandannath has a small airfield at Jumla Airport . The Karnali Rajmarg trunk road leads up the Karnali and Tila valleys to Chandannath.
