Charles Harten (born March 20, 1902 in the United States , † March 6, 1979 in Miami Beach , Miami-Dade County , Florida , United States) was an American cameraman who was nominated for the Oscar for best camera was.

Life

Harten worked between 1936 and 1974 as a cameraman in the Hollywood film industry on only five film productions such as the comedy Soak the Rich (1936) by Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur with Walter Connolly , John Howard and Mary Zimbalist in the lead roles.

At the Academy Awards in 1961 Harten was nominated together with Joseph Ruttenberg for the Oscar for best camera for the drama Telefon Butterfield 8 (Butterfield 8, 1960) by Daniel Mann with Elizabeth Taylor , Laurence Harvey and Eddie Fisher .
