Charles "Charlie" McKee (born March 14, 1962 in Seattle ) is a former American sailor .
successes
Charles McKee first took part in the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul in the 470 dinghy . Together with John Shadden he finished third behind Thierry Peponnet and Luc Pillot as well as Tõnu and Toomas Tõniste . With a total of 51 points, they received the bronze medal. In the same year they also took third place at the World Championships . McKee then switched to the 49er dinghy and competed in regattas with his brother Jonathan McKee . Together they won the 2000 Olympic Gamesin Sydney the bronze medal behind the Finnish and British boats. In addition, they secured the silver medal at the World Championships in Perth in 1997 , before winning the title in Malcesine in 2001 . McKee took part in the America's Cup twice.
McKee graduated from the University of Washington in 1986 and spent several years as a commercial real estate appraiser. After the 2012 Olympic Games, he became High Performance Director at the US Sailing Association .
