Charlie Chan Carries On is an American Pre-Code - Mystery film from 1931. Director was Hamilton MacFadden and the main characters were Warner Oland , John Garrick and Marguerite Churchill . It is Warner Oland's first appearance as Charlie Chan. The film is part of the long-running Charlie Chan film series , which is based on the novel series of the same name by Earl Derr Biggers . The film is now considered a lost film . However, Fox simultaneously filmed a Spanish-language version that was released under the title Eran Trece (US title: There Were Thirteen ). This is still there today.
