Charlotte Marian

Charlotte Marian (born February 16, 1937 in Obernburg am Main ; born Charlotte Katja Bischoff, married Charlotte Bruhn) is a German pop singer.

life and career

She was born as Charlotte Katja Bischoff. After graduating from high school, she took singing lessons and had smaller public appearances in various clubs. Her parents saw this with concern and convinced her of a traditional way of life. So she went for half a year as a store subsidiary in the Switzerland . Following the qualification to be a housewife in spe should be an academic education, but the Romance studies in Munich , plagued by musical desire, broke off after only two semesters . Instead, she continued her vocal training and continued to gain experience with sporadic performances. In 1959 she made 17 test recordings of the tracks for the 1st German Schlager Festival on Radio Luxembourg and received a record deal with the Tempo label . Initially, the artist was the duet partner of Claus Herwig , with whom she recorded several records at Tempo and Telefunken . In addition to Manuela and Monika Grimm , she was a member of the Tahiti Tamourés as well as Die vom Böhmerwald and Die Sweetles (which also included: Tina Rainford and Monika Grimm). Under the pseudonym Waikiki-Tamoures she covered the successful title of the Tahiti Tamoures Wini-Wini / Bey, Bey Samao . For this tempo production she sang a duet with herself.

The artist, who married the composer Christian Bruhn in 1962 , performed under several pseudonyms, including Charlotte Bruhn , Herzog siblings , Auer Dirndl and Gaby Wolf .

Charlotte Marian covered particularly successful songs (many of which were composed by Christian Bruhn) by popular pop singers: by Petula Clark , Siw Malmkvist , France Gall , Peggy March , Gitte Hænning , Melina Mercouri , Nana for the cheap label Tempo (also under her various pseudonyms) Mouskouri , Manuela , Wencke Myhre , Connie Francis etc.

The marriage with Christian Bruhn resulted in two sons.
