Population and geography

The 2000 census identified 3,743 residents. The urban area covers an area of ​​43.5 km², 2.1 km² of which are covered by water.

The vast majority of the population (96.79%) are white and 0.85% are African American. Nobody in the population lived below the subsistence level.
