Chlorine (I) nitrate is an inorganic chemical compound from the group of nitrates and is the mixed anhydride of hypochlorous acid and nitric acid .
Extraction and presentation
Chlorine (I) nitrate can be obtained by reacting dichloroxide with nitrous oxide
or chlorofluoride can be obtained with anhydrous nitric acid at about −78 ° C.
It is also formed in the stratosphere from chlorine monoxide and nitrogen dioxide .
