Cho Jin-woong (born Cho Won-jun on April 2, 1976 in Busan ) is a South Korean film and theater actor .

Life

Cho Jin-woong started out as a theater actor in Busan . Cho began his film career in Once Upon a Time in High School . He had his breakthrough with the drama Solyakgukjib Adeul-deul and has since had several roles in film and television. He received very positive reviews for his role in Jang Joon-hwan's film Hwayi: A Monster Boy (2013). He also starred in the period films Kundo - Pact of the Outlaws (2014) and The Admiral - Roaring Currents (2014). However, he played his greatest role to date as the antagonist in A Hard Day (2014), which was screened at the Cannes International Film Festival . Finally, Cho had other roles in the blockbusters Assassination (2015) and The Pickpocket (2016). He continued to receive good reviews for his performance on the television series Signal (2016) and played a major role in Entourage (2016), a South Korean adaptation of the US series of the same name .

In 2018 he was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
