Christopher Don Houston (born October 18, 1984 in Austin , Texas ) is a retired American football player on the position of cornerback . He played for the Atlanta Falcons and the Detroit Lions in the National Football League (NFL).

Early years

Houston attended high school in his native Austin, Texas. He later attended the University of Arkansas .

NFL

Atlanta Falcons

Houston was selected in the second round of the 2007 NFL draft in 41st place by the Atlanta Falcons . In his sophomore year in the NFL playing against the Kansas City Chiefs , he scored his first career interception .

Detroit Lions

On March 8, 2010, Houston was traded to the Detroit Lions . In the 2011 season he was interception return yards leader (5 interceptions for 225 yards) on June 13, 2014, he was released.

Carolina Panthers

On June 15, 2015, he signed a contract with the Carolina Panthers . On August 4, 2015, he announced his retirement from the NFL without ever having played a game for the Panthers.
