Christopher "Chris" Charles Humphrey (born September 19, 1987 in St. Catherine ) is a Jamaican soccer player who is under contract with FC Bury in England.

Career

society

Chris Humphrey started his career at FC Walsall in England. In 2004 he moved to the U-18 team from West Bromwich Albion . In the 2005/06 season he was a few times in the professional squad, but was not used. From the 2006/07 season he was under contract for three years with the English fourth division club Shrewsbury Town . In November 2007 he was loaned to the Stafford Rangers in the National League for a month . In the summer of 2009, Humphrey moved to the Scottish first division club FC Motherwell . He made his debut a few days after his commitment in qualifying for the Europa League in an 8-1 win over KS Flamurtari Vlora from Albania. In his first season at Motherwell he was injured 28 times. From the 2010/11 season he was a regular in the team that reached the Scottish Cup final in 2011 , and was surprisingly runner-up in 2013 . After his contract expired, Humphrey moved to the English third division club Preston North End . After two years as a regular player and promotion to the championship at the end of the 2014/15 season , he lost his place in the team in the 2015/16 second division . On the last day of 2016, the 29-year-old Humphrey moved to the Scottish second division club Hibernian Edinburgh . For the Hibs , Humphrey made his debut on January 6, 2017 against Dundee United , when he was in the starting XI. After only one season in Edinburgh, Humphrey moved to Bury FC .

National team

Chris Humphrey made his debut for the Jamaican national soccer team in May 2012 in the international match against Panama when he was substituted on for Keammar Daley . With the national team, Humphrey took part in the Gold Cup in the USA and Canada in 2015 . With the Reggae Boyz he reached the final , which was lost to Mexico . During the tournament he was used three times under national coach Winnie Schäfer .
