Christa-Maria Zimmermann (* 1943 in Wels , Upper Austria ) is an author who became known for crime novels . Today she writes historical books for children and young people .

Life

Christa-Maria Zimmermann was born in Wels, Upper Austria. Her favorite playground in childhood was the Kaiserswerther castle ruins (near Düsseldorf ). Even then she was interested in history , which she later studied - with art history as a major. During her school days she wrote small articles for a Düsseldorf newspaper and worked there during the semester break, initially as a volunteer and finally as an editor . She had four children, three girls and a boy. So she gave up her job as an editor, but not writing: from 1977 onwards, almost 20 books were written.

Awards

On November 18, 2005, Christa-Maria Zimmermann received the Friedrich Gerstäcker Prize for youth literature for her novel Hundert Tage bis Lhasa .
