Christa Ludwig , née Christa Schnorrenberg (born November 1, 1949 in Wolfhagen ) is a German writer and author of young adult books .

Life

Christa Ludwig attended the Goethe-Gymnasium in Dortmund and studied German and English in Münster and Berlin from 1968 to 1974 , where she then worked as a teacher . She later switched to the Hohenfels Castle boarding school in Hohenfels (near Stockach) . Her first published work, a fable - drama entitled "Children and animals in the Empire Volumien" she had written for her students; it was published in 1983 as a one-time, small-edition special edition.

From 1989 Christa Ludwig became known as an author of books for children and young people. The six-volume series “Hufspuren”, which was read by young horse lovers in particular, arose from her long experience with horses. This was followed by the volumes "Himmelshuf" and "Mähnenmeer" as well as other books on the subject of horses, but also individual works for adult readers.

In 1998 Christa Ludwig received a grant from the Association of German Writers . In August 2001, the radio play of the same name, produced and broadcast by NDR based on her story “Pendelblut”, was voted radio play of the month . In 2005, her novel “Carlos in the Night” was included in the selection list of the Golden Leslie for the best German-language book for young people of the year.

Christa Ludwig is a member of the Association of German Writers and was part of the Quo Vadis group of authors . Since 2014 she has been editor and co-editor of the annual literary and cultural magazine "Mauerläufer".

Private

The author lives with her husband and an Icelandic horse near Lake Constance and has three grown sons.
