Christian August Joachim Leißring (born December 23, 1777 in Sangerhausen , † November 1, 1852 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German actor and opera singer ( tenor ). In 1798 he was involved in the premiere of the Schiller drama Wallenstein's camp .

Life

Leißring was born the son of a civil servant in Sangerhausen. From 1792 he attended the St. Thomas School in Leipzig . Without a degree, he applied as an actor at the Weimar court theater . He approached Karl Friedrich Malcomi and was engaged by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's intercession. His first roles were "Ferdinand" in the comic opera Hieronymus Knicker and "Tamino" in the opera Die Zauberflöte . By Friedrich Schiller , he was for his "Holk'schen hunter" in Wallenstein's Camp praised. In 1799 he fled to Vienna via detours . Until 1839 he was a member of the ensemble of the Frankfurt Theater . He kicked u. a. as a "valet" in Cabal and Love and as a "monastery brother" in Nathan the Wise . Since 1810 he was a member of the Frankfurt Masonic Lodge "Zur Einigkeit".
