Christian Beckmann (politician)
Christian Beckmann (born September 23, 1943 in Güstrow ) is a German agricultural engineer and politician (CDU).
Life
After reaching secondary school, Beckmann did an agricultural apprenticeship on the then state-owned estate called the Vogelsang mansion in Lalendorf . This was followed by a technical college degree in Malchow (Mecklenburg) to become a state-certified farmer. He was practically active until 1968, after which he worked scientifically at the Institute for Arable and Crop Production in Gülzow-Prüzen . At the same time he made a correspondence course at the University of Rostock , which he as an agricultural engineer graduated with doctorate A ended. From 1985 to 1990 he was production manager in the agricultural cooperative of Gerdshagen . He is married and has two children.

Beckmann sat from 1988 to 1994 in the synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mecklenburg .
politics
Beckmann was a member of the Democratic Peasant Party of Germany from 1968 to 1989 . During the turning point and peaceful revolution in the GDR , he briefly embarked on a democratic awakening . In the CDU Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania since 1990 , he was elected to the Güstrow district executive in the same year. In 1990 he became district administrator in the Güstrow district . When the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania district reform in 1994 merged his district with the Teterow district, he ran for the state election in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 1994 . Elected to the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania with a direct mandate in the constituency of Güstrow 1 , he was deputy chairman of the committee for agriculture and nature conservation as well as the agricultural policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group. In Schwerin Castle he shared an office with Jürgen Andrees . He retained the mandate until the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 1998 , when the CDU lost and the SPD and PDS formed a coalition. From 1990 he was a mandate holder of the Güstrow district council and city councilor in Krakow am See . From August 24, 2000 to 2002, he was again in the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
