Christian E. Christiansen
Christian E. Christiansen (born December 14, 1972 in Kalundborg ) is a Danish film director and film producer .
Live and act
Christian E. Christiansen grew up in Kalundborg. Until 1988 he attended the Folkeskole Rynkevangskolen there for nine years . From 1989 to 1991 he studied in a math class at Kalundborg Gymnasium. From 1994 he worked in the film industry, initially as a producer of commercials and short films. He also played a few small film roles. From 1997 to 2001 he studied film production at Den Danske Filmskole .
In 2005 Christiansen produced the romantic comedy Nynne as the first full-length film . It was a public success in Denmark and reached number four in the annual charts.
Christiansen made his debut as a director in 2006 with the film Råzone , which deals with bullying among young people. Råzone has been nominated for several Bodil and Robert awards. The producer of the film was Louise Vesth , with whom Christiansen worked several times in the following years. Their most successful cooperation was the short film Om natten , which is about three young women suffering from cancer who spend Christmas together in the hospital. With Om natten , Christiansen and Vesth were nominated for an Oscar in 2007. Their family film Zoomerne (2009), about two boys spying on their classmates with cameras, was shown at numerous festivals and won two children's film awards.
Christiansen's first English-language directorial work appeared in 2011, the thriller The Roommate . He was particularly successful commercially in the United States. In early 2012, he began shooting his second US production, the 2014 horror film The Devil's Hand (also known under the working title Where the Devil Hides ).
In July 2013 Christiansen returned to Denmark and shot the film Lev stærkt in Aarhus (international title: On the Edge ). It is a sequel to Råzone and is about young people who cause the death of a girl in an illegal street race. The drama was produced by Vesth and was released in Danish cinemas on June 26, 2014.
