Christian Fröhlich (born October 27, 1977 in Dresden ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach . He is currently employed by FC Carl Zeiss Jena .

Career

As a player

Fröhlich played in his youth and as a professional at his hometown club Dynamo Dresden . In 1996 he moved to TSV 1860 Munich , for whose reserve team he played for five years. From 1999 the midfielder also belonged to the extended circle of the professional squad, but he did not appear in the Bundesliga. In 2001, the now 24-year-old played for Chemnitzer FC for a year before playing for FC St. Pauli in the 2002/03 season. From 2003 to 2006, Fröhlich was successful again with 22 hits and 85 appearances at Dynamo Dresden. Then he spent two years at FC Carl Zeiss Jena and then from 2008 to 2010 at Offenbacher Kickers . Chemnitzer FC then hired him for the 2010/11 season, but the contract was not extended in summer 2011. For the 2011/12 season he joined the Sachsenligisten Heidenauer SV , with whom he was promoted to the Oberliga Nordost . In the summer of 2014, the team captain ended his active football career at Heidenauer SV.

International

In 1998, Fröhlich played four games for the Olympic team .

As a trainer

In the summer of 2013 Fröhlich was introduced as the playing, sporting director of Heidenauer SV. He held this position until his contract expired on June 30, 2014, after which he found a job at FC Carl Zeiss Jena . There he was successively responsible for the league team and the B and A youth. On September 29, 2019, Fröhlich, meanwhile again coach of the reserves, became interim coach of the third division team of FC Carl Zeiss as the successor to Lukas Kwasniok . On matchday 12, Rico Schmitt took over the post and Fröhlich returned to Jena's second team.
