Christian Gottlieb Konopack also: Konopak (born November 7, 1767 in Danzig ; † April 3, 1841 in Jena ) was a German legal scholar.

Life

Christian Gottlieb was the son of the merchant in Gdansk Constantin Gottlieb Konopack and his wife Florentina Constantia Bulcke, widow of Abraham von Cölln. Initially he attended the Bartholomäischule in Gdansk, which was under the direction of Rector Daniel Gottfried Hündeberg. He later developed his knowledge under the direction of Rector Johann Erdmann Kladt at the Danzig Johannisschule and attended the academic high school in Danzig from 9 September 1783 . In March 1790 he began studying law at the University of Halle . After defending his inaugural thesis on April 5, 1797, he was awarded a doctorate in law. He then completed his habilitation in Halle, worked as a private lecturer, and became an associate member of the law faculty. In addition, he worked as a teacher of mathematics and physics at the royal pedagogy in Halle .

In 1802 he became an associate professor of law and in 1804 a full professor of the same subject. In 1807 he moved to the University of Rostock as a full professor of law , was there in 1811 consistorial counselor and in 1814 university syndic of the educational institution. In Rostock he also took part in the institute's organizational tasks in the summer semester of 1810 as rector of the university . In 1817 he moved to the University of Jena as a professor of law , with which he became an assessor of the Higher Appeal Court and Schöppenstuhl. Later he was dean of the law faculty several times and in the summer semester of 1819 he was rector of Alma . From 1800 Konopak participated in the publication of the journal Archiv des Criminalrechts and in 1817 the successor journal Neues Archiv des Criminalrechts .
