Gustav Asverus

Gustav Asverus (born November 23, 1798 in Jena ; † May 21, 1843 there ) was a German lawyer .

Life

Born as the son of a university judge, Asverus studied law in Jena, Heidelberg and Berlin after attending grammar school in Weimar . During his studies he became a member of the original fraternity in Jena in 1816 and of the old Heidelberg fraternity and the Berlin fraternity in 1818 . In 1817 he took part in the Wartburg Festival. In Heidelberg he was a member of the Christian-German party . During the persecution of demagogues , he was arrested from 1819 to 1820 and then expelled from Prussia ; In absentia to six years in 1824 imprisonment convicted, but pardoned in 1826. In 1823 he was awarded a Dr. iur. doctorate , where he then worked as a lawyer . In 1830 he became a private lecturer in civil litigation and internships, in 1832 an associate professor and in 1842 a full professor as well as a member of the Court of Appeal . He was a supporter of Hegel's philosophy .
