Christian Klingen (born January 9, 1965 in Würzburg ) is a German politician and member of the AfD .

Life

After attending the Röntgen High School in his native Würzburg, Klingen completed training as a police officer with the Bavarian riot police in 1985 and also worked in this role. He then studied administrative law from 1989 to 1992 at the Bavarian Civil Service College , where he graduated with a degree in administrative management . He then worked until 2008 at the University of Würzburg in the staff unit for occupational safety, animal and environmental protection.

Christian Klingen has been a member of the Bavarian AfD and chairman of the AfD district association Kitzingen-Schweinfurt since 2013 . From 2016 to 2018 he was chairman of the AfD district association of Lower Franconia. Since January 2018 he has been a member of the party's state executive in Bavaria. In the Bavarian state elections in 2018 , he ran as a constituency member in the Kitzingen constituency and on list number 1 of the AfD in Lower Franconia . He moved into the Bavarian state parliament as a member of parliament . There he is a member of the Committee for Environment and Consumer Protection. He is also a member of the media council of the Bavarian State Office for New Media .

Klingen is a member of the “ Der Flügel ” platform founded by Björn Höcke .

He is married to Andrea Klingen, who was elected in October 2018 for the AfD in the Lower Franconia District Assembly ( district of Kitzingen ).
