Christian Krettek

Christian Krettek (* 1953 in Palling , Upper Bavaria ) is a German surgeon and university professor .

Life

Krettek attended schools in Palling , Traunstein and Freising . With a scholarship for the particularly gifted , he studied medicine at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich after graduating from high school in 1973 . After the state examination, he spent two years in the armed forces and passed the American examination in 1981. With a Oskar Karl Forster Scholarship LMU doctorate he 1982 Dr. med.

In 1982 he went to Hannover Medical School for surgical training . When Harald Tscherne , Rudolf Pichlmayr , Hermann Mildenberger and Hans Georg Borst he was in 1989 Specialist for surgery. In 1992 he completed his habilitation on the subject of intramedullary stabilization on the femoral shaft: new development of implants and aids, experimental investigations and clinical application for trauma surgery .

Since 1996 apl. Professor , he rejected the 1998 reputation of the University of Rostock on the chair from trauma surgery. In 1999 he went to Australia as Professor at Monash University and Director of Trauma Surgery at Alfred Hospital in Melbourne . On November 1, 2000, he returned to the chair in Hanover as the successor to his teacher Tscherne . In 2004 the Trauma Foundation gGmbH was founded.

He is co-editor of several professional journals .
