Christian Link

Christian Link (born July 12, 1938 in Braunschweig ) is a German theologian.

Life

After studying (1958–1961) physics and mathematics ( Erlangen , Tübingen ) and studying (1962–1965) theology and philosophy ( Berlin , Heidelberg , Göttingen ) he was a research assistant at the seminar for religious philosophy in Heidelberg from 1969 to 1976 with Georg Picht . After receiving his doctorate in 1970 and his habilitation in 1976, he was a university lecturer in Heidelberg from 1976 to 1979. From 1979 to 1993 he taught as a professor for dogmatics and the history of philosophy at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the University of Bern . From 1980 to 2006 he headed the international Karl Barth conferences. From 1993 to 2004 he was Professor of Systematic Theology at the Ruhr University in Bochum . Since 1994 he has been a member of the board of the Society for Evangelical Theology. Since 2001 he has been a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Karl Barth Society.
