Christian Ritter (Author)

Christian Ritter (* 1983 in Bad Mergentheim ) is a German slam poet as well as the organizer and moderator of poetry slam events. He currently lives in Berlin .

Life

Christian Ritter grew up in Lauda-Königshofen in the Taubertal. From 2005 to 2010 he studied German , journalism and European ethnology at the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg . In 2016 he moved his main residence to Berlin.

Ritter has been the organizer and moderator of the Poetry Slam in Würzburg since 2005, and since 2010 also the organizer and moderator of the Poetry Slam in Bamberg. Together with Clara Nielsen and Max Kennel, he was part of the regular cast of the reading stage Bube Dame Ritter (2010-2013). Ritter is now a member of the Berlin Reading Stage Central Committee Deluxe . He also appears regularly on other reading stages, on poetry slams, comedy stages, in mixed shows and with solo performances.

From 2005 to 2014, Ritter took part in every German-language poetry slam championship . At the German-language poetry slam championships in 2009, he took second place. In 2018 he and Paul Bokowski won the erotic slam as part of the supporting program of the championships in Zurich.

Christian Ritter published several volumes of short stories and novels. His first novel, "Dichter Schlachten" (2012) takes place in the German-speaking slam scene, in which an undercover commissioner tries to uncover a series of murders on jury members. In the second novel, "The gentle kidnapping of the Potsdamer Strumpfträgers" (2013), the path of a failed Wer wird Millionär candidate is traced who, out of desperation, forges the plan to kidnap Günther Jauch in order to get the million he is aiming for. All of Ritter's works can be assigned to the genre of satire .
