Christian Schuldt

Christian Schuldt (born July 7, 1970 in Hamburg ) is a German sociologist and author .

Career

After studying sociology, English and German at the University of Hamburg and Newcastle University , Schuldt worked as a journalist and managing editor for various publishing houses, including Axel Springer SE , Hubert Burda Media and Gruner + Jahr .

Schuldt has been working as a trend and future researcher for the future institute founded by Matthias Horx since 2013 . The focus of his research and publications is the culture and media change in the course of the digital transformation . The studies for which Schuldt is responsible include a socio-technical analysis of digitization (“Digital Enlightenment” in collaboration with sociologist Dirk Baecker ) and the outline of a progressive post-growth economy (“Next Growth”), together with sustainability researcher André Reichel .

Schuldt has published several non-fiction books on sociocultural topics that are methodologically based on systems theory as coined by Niklas Luhmann , including an investigation of love semantics in the 21st century and an introduction to systems theory in the context of the networked society.
