Christian Wandrey

Christian Wandrey (born April 12, 1943 in Plauen ) is a German chemist and was Professor of Biotechnology at the University of Bonn from 1979 to 2008 and Head of the Institute for Biotechnology 2 at Forschungszentrum Jülich (successor is Wolfgang Wiechert ).

He studied chemistry in Hanover and Bristol , received his doctorate in 1973 and his habilitation in 1977. From 1977 to 1979 he was Professor of Chemical Process Engineering in Clausthal . His fields of work are enzyme and fermentation technologies, cell culture technology , wastewater treatment and bio-organic chemistry.
