Christiane Dorst
Christiane Dorst (born August 14, 1939 in Babelsberg ) is a German costume designer and stage designer .
She attended elementary school from 1945 to 1953 and high school from 1953 to 1957, from which she graduated from high school. From 1957 to 1962 she studied scenography at the University of Fine and Applied Arts in Berlin-Weißensee .
From 1962 to 1968 she worked as a set and costume designer at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam and designed the sets and costumes for around 50 productions. From 1968 to 1970 she worked at the City Theaters in Leipzig , where she mainly took care of the costume design.
In 1970 she joined DEFA as a costume designer . Among other things, she was responsible for the costumes in the Thomas Mann film adaptation Lotte in Weimar (1974/75) with Lilli Palmer and the Goethe adaptation The Sorrows of Young Werther (1976). She also worked twice with the West German director Peter Schamoni on his films Spring Symphony (1980) and Caspar David Friedrich - Boundaries of Time (1986). In 1990 she took over the management of the costume and make-up studio of Studio Babelsberg GmbH in Potsdam-Babelsberg.
