Christina Götschl (born September 6, 1990 ) is an Austrian natural track tobogganist . It starts since 2005 in the Intercontinental Cup, since 2012 in the World Cup and scored the tenth place at the 2010 European Championships .

Career

Götschl started tobogganing on natural track in 2001. She was soon able to book her first successes at the Austrian championships in her age group. She has been competing in the Intercontinental Cup since winter 2005/2006, where she achieved fifth place overall in the 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 seasons with several top 10 results and one podium each. From 2007 she also took part in international junior championships. At the Junior European Championships in St. Sebastian in 2007 and in Longiarü in 2009 , she finished ninth, but at the 2008 Junior World Championships in Latsch , after finishing eleventh in the first run , she failed in the second round.

With a fourth place at the Austrian State Championships in 2010, Götschl had also succeeded in qualifying for a World Cup race within the team for the first time , but she could not take part in the race in Umhausen because of her high school graduation ball taking place at the same time. Shortly thereafter, in the training runs of the 2010 European Championship in St. Sebastian, she managed to qualify for the competition against Katrin Mladek within the team , which was the first time she was able to compete in a major international event in the general class. She finished the European Championship in tenth position. At the Junior World Championships 2010 in Nova Ponente she finished seventh two weeks later.

At the beginning of the 2011/2012 season Götschl started in the World Cup for the first time. She took part in her first season in five of six World Cup races and mostly drove into midfield, with a tenth place in Železniki being her best result. She finished twelfth in the overall World Cup. At the European Championships in 2012, however, she was not at the start.

In summer Götschl also takes part in roller luge competitions, both in single and double with Thomas Schopf . She has already achieved several victories and podium places at the Austrian Championships and the Austrian Roller Luge Cup. In 2012 she won the Austrian roller luge championship and the overall ranking of the roller luge cup with Schopf in a two-seater.
