Christine Fröhlich

Christine Fröhlich (born December 24, 1948 in Langenwang , Styria ; † August 11, 2015 in Heiterwang , Tyrol ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ).

Life

After attending the eight-year elementary school in Langenwang from 1955 to 1963, Christine Fröhlich completed an apprenticeship in the restaurant business . She came to Tyrol through her job , where she has lived in Heiterwang ever since. Here she worked from 1971 as a waitress in tourism . Nevertheless, she later pursued other professions. She was a saleswoman in the clothing trade for two years , then from 1976 to 1988 a housewife , and finally from 1988 again as a bar assistant in the catering trade .

From 1984 Fröhlich was also involved in the Austrian women's movement when she was elected local director of Heiterwang. After she took over the leadership of the women's movement in the Reutte district in 1989 , she was elected deputy chairwoman of the women's movement in the entire state of Tyrol in 1999.

In December 2002, Fröhlich was sworn in as a member of the Federal Council in Vienna . She was a member of the regional chamber until June 2008.

Christine Fröhlich was married to Rudolf Fröhlich , a former mayor of Heiterwang. The two have three children.
